Educate Rochdale Awards 2024
Fri 19 Jul 2024First Ever Educate Rochdale Awards!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the borough’s first ever Educate Rochdale Awards sponsored by Reed Education.
These inaugural awards shine a spotlight on outstanding achievements and contributions within the field of education. They are a celebration of all the exemplary work taking place in our schools and colleges.
Educate Rochdale Awards aim to build an inspirational and inclusive legacy that will resonate across our community, celebrating Rochdale’s education heroes and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
The winners will be revealed at a special ceremony on Friday 8th November 2024 at Rochdale Town Hall where that hard work will be recognised in an evening filled with passion and energy.
Educate Rochdale Awards 2024 looks set to be a truly special evening which will uplift and inspire, celebrating the tremendous work of our educators, acknowledging the dedication, innovation, and commitment of individuals who inspire and uplift our school communities on a daily basis.
Cllr Rachel Massey, Lead Member for Education, is fully supportive of the awards and said:
"Every parent/carer wants their child to love learning, be inspired at school, and grow into the best version of themselves. In Rochdale, our schools—ranging from early years and high schools to SEND provision and colleges—are full of amazing staff who dedicate themselves to making this happen.
We’re excited to launch the Raising Rochdale Education Awards, led by Andy Bridson, Headteacher of Cardinal Langley, and Katie Charlton, Head of Schools at Rochdale Borough Council. This November we want you to help us shine a spotlight on the incredible teachers, teaching assistants, and education staff who make a real difference.
Do you know a teacher who’s gone the extra mile? A teaching assistant who’s always there to help? Nominate them! Let’s celebrate the people who are inspiring our children and young people every day."
We invite valued members of our education community to join us in recognising the exceptional individuals who have made a significant impact to education in our region and who continue to Raise Rochdale.

A glittering celebration
The awards event itself will be a glitzy celebration and will include a very special meal served in the impressive Great Hall at Rochdale’s newly restored Town Hall.
There will be 3 shortlisted nominees per award and each shortlisted school or college will receive 2 free tickets. Further tickets will then go on open sale in September.
Reed Education have generously agreed to be the headline sponsor of Educate Rochdale Awards and each individual award is also being sponsored by local businesses. Each sponsor will be instrumental in the shortlisting process and the presentation of the awards.
