“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you
we will bear much fruit. Apart we can do nothing."

Intent
Here at Holy Family, we believe that it is our core responsibility to ensure that our students have access to the best education possible which is underpinned by our values of Faith, Perseverance, Integrity and Community. It is important that our curriculum offer allows students to develop the knowledge, skills, and experiences to allow them to the ‘best they can be’ and inspire and instil the confidence in them that when they leave us, they can go out and transform their lives.
Aims of the curriculum
- inclusive, nurturing and designed towards the needs of the individual
- ambitious and enjoyable through the knowledge and skills developed at both Key Stage 3 and 4.
- develops oracy, literacy, numeracy and digital skills enabling students to become global citizens.
- enriching and allows opportunity for students to experience cultural, artistic, and sporting activities.
- Develops cultural capital to allow our students to succeed academically and engage with wider society.
Our curriculum is the result of careful ongoing planning and review across the College. There is a particular focus on ensuring that Key Stage 3 builds the solid and lasting foundations of strong subject knowledge, skills, whilst exciting and inspiring our young learners.
The intent is implemented through building blocks of knowledge, skills and enrichment which are arranged in such a way as to ensure comprehensive and sequential learning.
Along with the academic subjects, students have Personal Development Time. This covers a wide range of topics including RSE and Careers education. The programme has been carefully designed to ensure that it meets the needs of our students. There is a blended approach to delivery which involves our own staff and the expertise of other professionals.
Our curriculum sits alongside the many and varied academic and extra- curricular enrichment activities on offer at the College, all of which are equally important to the Holy Family experience.
