Basketball Success for Megan at National Super Region Tournament
Tue 21 Jul 2026Congratulations to Megan on an outstanding achievement representing the North of England Girls U15 Basketball Team at the prestigious Aspire All Stars Super Region Tournament, held at the National Basketball Performance Centre.
The tournament brought together the very best young players from across the country, with teams representing the North, Central, South and London regions of England, alongside the Girls U15 national teams from Scotland and Wales.
Megan was honoured to be appointed captain of the North of England team, leading her side to an excellent silver medal finish. The team won all but one of their matches, narrowly losing a closely contested final to London by just five points (49–44).
Megan also enjoyed an exceptional tournament on an individual level. She finished as the North's second highest scorer overall, just one point behind the team's top scorer, and was the leading scorer for the North in the final, contributing 11 points.
To round off a fantastic weekend, Megan was presented with a prestigious Golden Ball All Star Award, recognising her as one of the top five players across the entire tournament.
Everyone at Holy Family is incredibly proud of Megan's achievements. Her dedication, leadership and sporting excellence are an inspiration, and we congratulate her on representing both the North of England and our school with such distinction.
Well done, Megan!

Holy Family Students Compete at English Schools Cross Country Championships
Mon 16 Mar 2026We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of two Holy Family students who recently competed in the prestigious English Schools Cross Country Championships, held this year in Liverpool. This event brings together the top eight athletes from each county, making it one of the most competitive school cross country fixtures in the country.
Lucy represented her county in the Under-17 girls’ race, finishing an impressive 192nd out of approximately 350 of the best athletes in the country. Notably, many of the competitors in this race were a year older, making Lucy’s performance particularly commendable.
In the Under-15 girls’ race, Heidi also delivered an excellent performance, finishing 155th out of around 350 runners from across England.
Competing at this level is a fantastic achievement and reflects the dedication, determination and hard work both students have shown in their training and competitions throughout the season.
We are extremely proud of Lucy and Heidi for representing their county and our school at such a high level, and we look forward to following their continued success in athletics.
